Modeling the Relationship of Frequency, Temperature,

and Resistivity of Vanadium Dioxide

Brenden Dixon - A junior at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (SDSM&T) majoring in Electrical Engineering (EE).  He worked with Dr. Dimitris Anagnostou as his Faculty Advisor/Mentor on a research project involving the modeling the relationship of frequency, temperature, and resistivity of vanadium dioxide.  Brenden pursues projects diligently which can be seen in his work with Robotics Club Wisconsin at Eau Claire.  Also, he was the first male student from Erie High School to join Denver’s Allstate Choir.  His favorite quotation:  "Should we force science down the throats of those that have no taste for it? Is it our duty to drag them kicking and screaming into the twenty-first century? I am afraid that it is." (George Porter)

Vivaldi Wire Antennas With Direct Write Technology

Thomas Wallace - A junior at SDSM&T majoring in Electrical Engineering (EE).  He worked with Dr. Thomas Montoya as his Faculty Advisor/Mentor on a research project involving the construction of Vivaldi wire antennas with direct write technology.  Thomas is a veteran of the United States Air Force and enjoys rising to meet the challenges life throws at him.  As a father and husband, he enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying the Black Hills.  His favorite quotation: “Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!” (Sylvester Stallone)
